The following is the district forecast issued by the Meteorological Office. Wellington, to-dav: — Situation: An anti-cyclone lies over the Tasman Sea and a series of westerly depressions is passing to the south. Forecast to 5 p.m. Wednesday: Westerlies becoming fresh at times. Weather: Mainly cloudy, with some occasional showers, especially in South Westland. Temperatures cool. Further outlook: Changeable westerly conditions, with further showers.
