AERIAL ACTIVITY "LONDON, Oct. 30. To-day’s Allied communique from Italy says: Weather conditions m Italy have improved and patrols have been very active. Poor weather forced a cancellation of most air operations on Sunday. A small force of heavy bombers bombed targets in southern Germany. Long-range fighters strafea roads and rail traffic in Austria. Fighters and fighter-bombers attacked enemy oositions and motor and railway transport in the battle area. Seven ‘planes are missing. TRIBUTE TO POLES RUGBY, October 30. General Maitland Wilson speaking at Athens to Polish war correspondents said, according to an Agency message: “The Polish forces in Italy are fighting ‘like Hell’, and have captured two important heights on the way to Forli against stubborn German resistance. I am very proud of these boys and consider myself father of the Polish Corps which was reorganised under my command in Iraq.” BRITISH LABOUR’S GREETING. RUGBY, October 30. The National. Executive of the British Labour Party sent, a message of goodwill and greeting to members of the Italian resistance movement and Italian Socialist Party. The message stated: “Deeds of ’heroism mid defence behind the German lines great - ly helped the Allied, armies and made a glorious effort to redeem the fair name and fame of Italy. You earned the trust, confidence arid admiration of your fellow socialists and ‘mocrats throughout .Europe. .Your task of wiping out Fascism will be long and difficult, The Germans must be driven right out oi. Itffiv, then will follow the task already begun of helping to make good the wreckage and devastation of morale resulting from 20 years of Fascism, followed by _uiiwanted war as an ally of Nazi Germany.
