Not since the war began has any boxer in Australia received as much publicity as that accorded the New Zealand welterweight champion, Vic Caltaux, whose match with the Australian champion, Patrick, on Saturday, is expected to attract a capacity house to the Sydney Stadium. Caltaux has been ruggedly impressive in his training workouts, showing little science but a powerful punch. Experts agree that he will have to knock out the stylish Patrick to win m Saturday’s fight. Patrick himself is a solid puncher, but being only a few weeks out of hospital, where he received treatment for a minor complaint, he may not be in his best form.
