U-BOATS MASTERED.
LONDON, October 29. The victory of Coastal Command aircraft over U-boats lying in wait to attack the Allied invasion craft carrying troops and supplies to France, is described in an article by Squadron Leader Hector Bolitho in the “Daily Express.” He says that the victory over the U-boats was won in 48 hours. Not a single life or pound of equipment was lost as the result of U-boat action since the invasion. Doenitz had a big U-boat fleet waiting when the invasion began, and twenty-one were sighted in the first twenty-four hours. Some were attacked and some sunk. Not 'one got through to-the Channel.One British Colombian pilot and crew made history by sinking two U-boats in 22 minutes.
