REEFTON FATALITY
WOMAN CYCLIST KILLED [OCR OWN CORRESPONDENT.] REEFTON, October 30. A cyclist, Mrs. Honorah Lowry, 48, wife of Mrs. J. C. Lowry, of Reefton, received , a practure of the skull and other injuries, in a collision with a motor-van at the corner of Buller Road and Crampton Road, Reefton, about 8 p.m., on Saturday. Mrs. Lowry died shortly after admission to the Inangahua Hospital. There was heavy rain and a gusty wind at the time of the accident, and visibility was poor.
Mrs. Lowry was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. O’Sullivan, of Greymouth. She was a native of Ahaura and had resided at Reefton for only a few months. She is survived by her parents, her husband and two daughters; also two sisters, Miss M. O’Sullivan (Greymouth) and Mrs. M. Mitchell (Greymouth), and two brothers, Denis (Greymouth) and James (North Island). The funeral will take place at Greymouth to-morrow afternoon. SERVICE STATION MISHAP The manager of the Goodrich Service Station in Mackay Street, Greymouth, Robert Gomer Hall, 35, married, of Turamaha Street, was found about 12.45 p.in., yesterday in a semiconscious state in his car' outside the service station by ■ Constable A. Keown. After attention by Dr. G. Andrae, Hall was admitted to the Grey Hospital where it was found that he had received a compound depressed fracture of the skull. His condition was serious but was to-day reported to be slightly improved. Hall went to the service station, yesterday morning, to do some work, and it is that his injuries were caused- by an emery wheel breaking while he was working at it. The broken wheel was found in a search of the premises after Hall was discovered in the car.
