REEFTON NOTES

REEFTON. October 27

A public meeting was held at the Council Chambers on Thursday evening to consider the formation of a sub-centre of the Order of St. John at Reefton, and to hear an address by Commander C. H. Kearsley, of the Canterbury Order of St. John who came to Reefton to hand over the newly-built motor ambulance to the Hospital Board. Mr F. W. Archer, County "Chairman, presided, and there was an attendance of 40 persons.

Mr A, Turner moved and Mr J McGregor seconded, that the necessary steps be taken to set up a subcentre of the Order of St. John at Reef ton.—Carried.

Mr Archer was appointed chairman, Mr J. Banks secretary, and the following committee was elected: — Messrs J. Casey, W. Butcher, A. Turner, C. Coxall, and Mrs Yellowlees.
