. FIRM FINED £15,000 LONDON, August 1. A total fine of £.15,000 with £5OO costs was imposed by Mr. Justice Macnaghten at Lewes Assizes on !Messrs H. A. and R. G. Mumford and Co. Ltd., manufacturing chemists, of Hove, found guilty of excessive trading under the Limitation of Supplies Order. „ , Henry Attwood Mumford, a director, was sent to prison for 12 months. The Judge said that he was the originator of the scheme. Another director, Richard George’ Mumford, was sentenced to six months’ imprisonment. Similarly charged, the Gamma Corporation, Dr. Stephen Rety (a director) and Boris Forter (a director of another firm) were all found not guilty. The case concerned the sale of controlled toilet preparations.
