GARDNER—SMITI f.

The wedding took place at Holy Trinity Church, recently, of Amelia Mav, third daughter of Mrs and the lab Mr P. G. Smith, of. Greymouth, and Eric McKinlay, youngest son o. Mrs and the late Mr E. Gardner, of Christchurch. Rev. Mr Kirkham officiated, and Mr J. Paterson was organist. The bride, who was escorted by her uncle, Mi’ J. Smith, was attired in a model frock of white georgette, the bodice of which was finely Gathered on to a deep basque, with lull bishop sleeves. The fully gored skirt fell into a train with a plaited georgette love knot. She also wore a treble string of pearls, given by her 'Grandmother. Her heavily embroidered tulle veil was apphqued vdth satin and was held in place with a top-knot of plush white roses. She carried a sheaf of tulips, roses and maiden-hair fern. The bridesmaids, Misses Valerie Smith (sister of the bride), Jean Cameron, Elva Price and Florence Powley, Westport (cousin ol the bride) wore frocks of apricot and powder blue erepe-de-chine, made with, heart-shaped necklines, with short, puff sleeves, and finished at the back with buttons to the waist. Their full skirts were gathered on to deep-pointed basques. They wore Juliet caps of plaited crepe-de-chine, and gold bracelets, the gifts of the bridegroom. Their bouquets were of tulips, roses and maiden-hair fern. Mr G. Gardner was best man, and Messrs J. Smith, T. Walker, and D. Stuart were groomsmen. A reception was held at Herb. Moore’s, where the guests were received by the bride’s mother, wearing a tailored black and white check costume, with black hat and accessories to tone. She wore a shoulder spray of lily of the valley _ and maiden-hair fern. She was assisted by the bridegroom’s mother, who wore a model frock with a black edge-to-edge coat, and with hat and accessories to tone. She wore a shoulder .'-pray of freesias and maiden-hair fern.

Mr and Mrs Gardner left by the railcar for Christchurch, the bride travelling in a black crinkled crepe suit relieved with white embroidery, with hat and accessories to tone. She carried a black and white tailored com.
