TREAT THE FAMILY TO TREACLE TART Menfolk particularly seem to have a weak spot for Treacle Tart. Treacle Tarts are easy to make and satisfy the sweet tooth without using sugar. Here is a good recipe: Six oz. Fether-Flake pastry; 2oz. bread-crumbs; rind of 1 lemon; golden syrup. Line a tin plate with the Fether-Flake and bake till firm. Put in half bread-crumbs and the lemon rind. Cover well with golden , syrup, finish with bread-crumbs and bake till pastry is cooked. And don’t forget the menfolk’s big favourite, Apple Pie, which can also be made with Fether-Flake. Note: It, is important with all pastry to allow it to stand for 15 minutes before baking ahd, of course, to use a -hot oven as for scones. Fether-Flake is puff pastry, perfectly mixed and ready to roll out, and is obtainable at all Ernest Adams Ltd. Cape Shops and Agencies at lid per lb.—Advt. 4
