WOMEN LEAVING SERVICES

(Rec. 1.10) CANBERRA, Sept. 13. Women were being discharged from Australian Army services at more than twice the rate of enlistment, said the Minister of the Army (Mr. Fordo), commenting on the request for the release of women from the services to meet manpower shortages in industry. He said that all the women's army services were be-, low their war establishment strengths and the deficiency was causing a severe strain.
