DRIVE IN TRANSYLVANIA rru -D A LONDON, Sept. 11. The Red Army, m its drive to clear Transylvania of the enemy, is advancing along one of the main railwaZ “ nes leading to Hungary. Soviet and Rumanian troops in northern Transylvania have liberated more than 50 towns and villages, but are encountering strong German resistance in the hilly country. Moscow radio says that General Malinovsky has been promoted to be Marshal. ' LATEST CAPTURES. \ ls^ >. Condon, sept. 11. The Russians in Central Rumania, co-operating with the Rumanians, have occupied over 200 places, including Sighisoara, Petrosani and Medias, says to-night’s Soviet communique. The Russians south-west oi Lomza occupied 30 places. Troops of the Third Ukrainian M’ont, in Bulgaria, took prisoner Lieut.-General Treger, the Coin--IP? n .c^ .er the .German 13th Tank Division, and Lieut.-General Peiger, Commander of the German 193rd Infantry Division.
