WEATHER REPORT 9 a.m.: Barometer, 1024.7 (rising); thermometer, 42; wind. easterly (light breeze); sky, blue and cloudy; bar, moderate sea; river, normal: rainfall, one point (total to date, 58.40 inches). The depth on the bar at high water yesterday was 19 feet nine inches. WEATHER-FORECAST The following is the district fore cast issued by the Meteorological Office, Wellington, for the 24 hour* from noon to-day:— Easterly to northerly winds freshening at limes, some scattered rain in the far south, mainly fair elsewhere. Temperatures moderating. Further outlook: Scattered rain developing from the south.
