Mr. and Mrs. H. R. Williams and Miss M. Caldwell left last evening on return to Christchurch.

The death took place at the Palmerston North Hospital, on Sunday, of ‘Rev. C. A. Foston, formerly superintendent minister of the Westport Circuit of the Methodist Church. Mr Foston, who was in his 75th year, resided at Levin. He is survived by Mrs. Foston.

Mr. T. Shaw, chief clerk, Rehabilitation Department, Greymouth, has received notice of transfer to a similar position in the Nelson office. According to advice received in Westport he will be replaced at Greymouth by Mr W W. Turner, who has been on the’ staff of the “Westport News.” -

The funeral of the late Mr. Thomas' Hubert Boustridge took place, this afternoon, at the Karoro Cemetery. Rev. T. G. Campbell conducted the services at the residence and at the graveside. Wor. Bro. D. Mclvor, Past Grand Steward of the Masonic Grana Lodge conducted the Masonic burial service, and officers of Grand Lodge acted as pall-bearers.

The death occurred in Christchurch, on Friday, of Mrs. Maria Dennison, wife of Mr. Charles Dennison, aged 61 Mrs. Dennison, who had resided for 30 years at Awatuna, where her husband was a ganger in the Railways Department, moved to Christchurch ten years ago. She is survived by her husband and family of five daughters, Mrs. G. Barker (Lyttelton), Mrs. A. Pelvir (Riccarton). Mrs. E. Goodall (Reei'ton), Mrs. H. Howart (Rewanui), and Miss M. Dennison (Christchurch), and five sons Geoffrey (Wellington), Leslie (Air Force), Roy (Otahuhu), Mervyn (Ruatapu) and Eric (Reefton).

The death occurred suddenly at her residence, Palmerston Street, Greymouth, last evening, of Mrs. Mary Isabella Thomson, a native of Kameri aged 62 years. Deceased, who resided in Cobden for many years, is survived by her husband, Mr. George Thomson, five daughters, Mesdames J. N. Mundy (Greymouth). D. Manderson and H. Dempster (Runanga), H. Stubbs (Tauranga), and M. Maxwell (Nelson), and three sons, George and Bernard (Cobden) and Joseph (Karoro): also one sister, Mrs. J. Dance (Wellington), and five brothers, James O’Neill (Kokiri), John (Cobden), Patrick (Reefton), Francis (Greymouth) and Bernard (Christchurch). The funeral will take place on Friday at Karoro Cemetery.
