FIGURES FOR THREE MONTHS

Over a period of three months—-the final quarter of 1943 —the returns from the sale of health stamps which are to benefit lhe children's healtn eamns throghuout the Dominion show that Auckland still holds the lead, with Wellington as runner-up. The sales over the three months lor the various districts are as follow:— Auckland, £6152/17/7; Wellington, £4683/12/2; Christchurch. £.>292 8/91: Dunedin, £3215/8/91; Palmcrsion'North, £2038/17/51; Hamilton, £2160/2/6; Napier (which includes Hastings and nearby towns), LKJb 0/21; Invercargill, £1217/2/10 2 ; Ti-mai-u, £902/6/9; New Plymouth £892/18/41; Wanganui, £713/7/.02, Gisborne, £589/4/2; Oamaru, £491 7/71; Nelson, £436/13/21; Blenheim, £238/6/71; Greymouth, - £176/17/1; Westport, £136/14/1. In addition <o the above there is an amount oi £18,179/11/- for sales from the stamps branch of the Post Office (counter, N.Z., and Overseas), ano. those accredited to the High Commissioner in London.

Perhaps the most striking figures are the total sales for the last- three months oi' 1943 and those for the whole campaign of last .year. Tne three-monthly total is set down as £47,356/18/6, while the total for the whole of the previous campaign was only £16,281 —an extraordinary increase.
