LAST EVENING’S RESULTS

AUCKLAND, January 20

The second evening’s programme in deciding the New Zealand amateur swimming championships proved an overwhelming success. The Newmarket Olvmpic Pool was packsed with an enthusiastic crowd. Again the Otago representatives excelled in all events and placed the province in a strong position to win the Wav Memorial Shield. Members of the Newmarket Swimming Club gave :< soectacular display of diving from the. high platforms. Miss O. Hobson, of Canterbury, again proved the outstanding senior lady swimmer by winning the 220 yards championship. Miss Hobson won the 440 yards championship on Wednesday, and is a perfect stylist.
