E VEN DEN—I lAM E H Holy Trinity Church, Kumara, was the scene of the wedding, on Wednesday last, of Doris Jane, youngei daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Hamer of Kumara, to Walter, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles E. Evc-ii-clen of Kumara, Rev. K. P. Taylor officiating. The church was decorated by friends of the bride. . The bride, who was escorted by her lather, was attired in a model gown of white organdie over white satin. The frock was cut in picturesque style, the bodice pin-tucked to a squared neckline and long bishop sleeves also pin-tucked to mutch. Pintucking was carried out in the panels of the'long trained skirt the train of which was finished' with two frills. The waistline had a white satin sash which fell softly to the train. An embroidered tulle veil was held in place with a coronet of orange blossoms. The bridal' sheaf was composed of white gladiolias, sweet peas, gypsophilia and maiden-hair fern. She was attended by her sister Amanda as bridesmaid, whose frock was of cyclamen taffeta the bodice being rucked and the long full skirt was caught at the waist with a purple t,ie bell, the head adornment being a halo to match the frock The bouquet was of dahlias, sweet peas and gladiolus. Flight-Lieut. R. F. Watson (on furlough from overseas) was best man. Miss F. Evenden presided at the organ. The reception was held at the Memorial Hall where the guests were received by Mrs. Hamer, mother of the bride, who was attired in a floral frock, navy coat, hat and accessories to tone with a shoulder spray of slocks and sweet peas. She was assisted by Mrs. Evenden, the bridegroom’s mother, who wore a navy ensemble with hat and shoes to tone and a spray of red begonias. The newly-married couple left by rail-car for Christchurch, Dunedin and Invercargill for their honeymoon. The bride travelled in a light grey costume with hat mid shoes to tone, and carried a fur coat.
