“I don’t want to take English—l want subjects related to my work,” an evening school student employed by the Railway Department said to the principal of the Papanui Technical College (Mr. J. B. Mcßride), when discussing a course of study. Mr. Mcßride, who told of the incident when speaking at the annual prizegiving of the Papanui Technical College yesterday, said that a short time later some of the school teams were travelling to Rangiora, and he asked this boy to fill in a concession trip form. For about 10 minutes the boy puzzled things over and then went to him and said: “Sir, I will take English.”
