NEW YORK, Nov. 20.

The New York “Herald-Tribune’s” Washington correspondent says: Earth-moving machinery will be shipped to England for “strip-min-ing.” The earth in these operations is stripped off coal veins which are close to the surface, and the coal is dug out of open pits. This is a common process on American coal-fields, but it never has been used in England. A British estimate is that it will yield five million tons of coal within nine years, as well as saving shipping space.
