PRICES GENERALLY EASIER CHRISTCHURCH, Nov. 18. Spring lamb values showed a big drop at the Addington sale, yesterday, when there was an easing ol 6/- to 9/- a head. Best fat sheep were also cheaper, and fat cattle de-. Mined in price by 30/- to £3/10/- a head. , ~ Store sheep.—ln the wether section the best price was 26/3 for a line of local two-tooths. Of the Marlborough sheep, 100 2-tooths brought 24/6, and 158 four-tooths made 21/6, the balance ranging from 18/6 to 19/3. The demand for hoggets was much below that of recent sales, the largest line, 304 ewes ill the wool, being passed in at 34/-, and a line or shorn ewe hoggets was also passed in at 24/6. Shorn wether hoggets declined by 1/- a head, several pens selling at from 22/9 to 25/-. There were 740 ewes with lambs forward. One pen of 47 ewes and 40 lambs of outstanding quality realised 24/- all counted. Medium lines, however, ranged from 16/4 to 17/6 all counted. Two small pens of shorn ewes and lambs made 12/-.

Fat Lambs.—The entry reached the highest total of the season, close on 1600 being penned, against 673®last week. With the continuance of fine weather, there was a further improvement in the quality of the offering, but large numbers of light and unfinished lambs were still in evidence. The large yarding far exceeded the requirements of the trade. The highest price was 36/7 for a pen of three, and other heavy lambs sold from 36/7 to 38/7. Good lambs made from 27/1 to 30/10, and light and unfinished from 22/1 to 24/7.

Fat Sheep.—The entry approximated 500, practically all shorn. The quality generally was good, but in sympathy with the depreciated beef and lamb market there was a marked easing from the outset, and this was manifest throughout. Extra prime wethers, to 47/7. Prime wethers, 36/- to 41/1. Prime medium-weight wethers, 32/7 to 34/10. Ordinary wethers, 28/- to 31/-. Extra prime ewes, to 38/7. Prime ewes, 30/7 to 35/7. Prime medium-weight ewes, 21/4 to 26/1. Light ewes, down to 16/7. Woolly ewes, to 39/1.

Fat Cattle.—The entry was much larger than that of a week ago, comprising 602 head, as against 411. Quality, also, was much better, the result of the improved substance in pasture caused by the dry weather. Extra prime heavy steers, to £29 7/6*. Prime steers, £2l to £26. Vealers.—Extra good runners, to £l2/13/6. Medium to good, £7/6/to £lO/3/6. Large calves, to £5 17/6; medium to good, £2/7/6 to £3 1/6: small down to 7/-. Store Cattle.—A forward-con-ditioned pen of 12 Black Poll twoyear steers made £l3/16/-, a second pen of 12, not so forward, £l2/8/6. other prices for more backward being 12 at £lO/16/-. 12 at £lO/18/6, 13 at £9/13/6, and 11 Herefords £lO 3/6. Amongst other lines was one of seven Black Poll two to two and a half-year steers which macle £l2. Fresh cows made up to £7/8/6.
