The Transport Department is becoming perturbed by the widespread deterioration in the condition of tiansport and similar vehicles, owing to the lack of spare parts and the shortage of motor mechanics to carrv out repairs. Mr. G. F. Poole, Vehicle Inspector, Greymouth, tendering evidence to the Armed Forces Appeal Board, this morning, stated that there were nowhere near enough mechanics to keep the vehicles up to the mark.
