! MONTHLY MEETING 5. The Grey Electric Power Board I mot last evening, there being present Messrs. J. Mulcare (chairman), W. i Fisher. J. B. Kent, W ,H. Parfitt, J. i.inwin, j. Smeaton, VV. Clayton, W. E. Bring, and P. Blanchfield. The Finance Committee’s report, embodying the following report by the Secretary (Mr W. S. McClyinont) was read and adopted:—The Power Fund bank account shows a credit of I £5.509/2/10, cash receipts since, my I , ?c 'P°Tt having amounted to £7,331/12/1. Range sales under the Board’s financial assistance scheme I continue to increase. The figure now , to £11,297/17/3, of which £2,165/10/2 is still outstanding. The -urge power readings on November J came to £3,488/19/11. All October 1 readings, except the Government Department accounts, have been paid. During October the meters in groups A (town) and C (part country) were read, recording a revenue of £10,973 9/M inclusive of large power. The Finance Committee decided not . to insure the Board’s assets against earthquake damage and to give ail permanent employees the opportunity of joining the Board’s superannuation scheme. * report of the Engineer (Mr Sinclair Trotter) was read and adopted, as follows:—The line stall’ nas been employed chiefly on maintenance of overhead lines in Shakespeare, Palmerston, and Marlborough Streets, Greymouih., and at Ngahere. New consumers have been connected ana service lines to existing consumers in some localities have been over.ia tiled, along with • a small amount of work at Ru Ru and Moana. Since last meeting three new applications for power have been ieceived and permits issued. Five new consumers have been connected. Applications now total 5,253 and consumers 5,350. The load has been maintained at a high level; the units purchased last week being the Highest on record, the increase being y,-holly due to operations in the mining industry. An application for euppiy to a rurther sawmill has been ivcciveci. The connected load for the! mon hi is: Light, 1.56 k.w., heat and 1 iron,. 26 k.w.; water heat 1.2 k.w.: cocking, 73.5 k.w. The total load for we month was 102.26 and the load 30687.416 k.w.
