KUMARA NOTES
[OUR OWN CORRESPONDENT.! At the tenth birthday celebration of the Kumara Women’s Institute, there was a fair attendance, and an enjoyable evening was spent in games and competitions. Songs were given by Mrs. W. J. McNabb and Miss Marjorie Stewart and a recitation by Miss D. Hamer. The competitions were won by Mrs. Caithness senr. and junr. Mesdames Teen, Stratford, Malcolmson, Hyndman, Fahey and Misses Stewart and Hamer. The lucky number was won by Mrs. Caithness junr. Apologies for absence were received from the Dobson, Greymouth, Hokitika and Arahura Valley Institutes and a telegram was read from the Federation Executive. "The cake was made by the president, who said she was grateful for the co-operation of members throughout the year, and trusted that the great interest displayed by members would continue. Mrs. Reedy expressed appreciation to members for their willing help and said it was pleasing to note that throughout difficult times thp Kumara Institute had made steady and interesting progress.
