BRITAIN NOT INTERESTED (N.Z.P.A. Special Correspondent) LONDON, Sept. 27. British newspapers have made no comment so far on the New Zealand general election, contenting themselves with giving a brief report of the results. It cannot be stated that the election’ aroused much interest here, but that is not surprising, in view of the war news and the political rearrangements following the death of Sir C. Kingsley Wood. The defeat of Mr. Lee and the Independents caused chief comment in New Zealand circles here, which expected a fall in Labour’s majority. 'l’here is also interest in Mr. Fraser’s reduced majority for his seat.
