The Bulgarian frontier has been closed, says the Algiers radio. The Bulgarian Government has been continuously in session for the past few days. The Germans have taken over the Bulgarian Black Sea ports of Burgas and Varna. Strong fortifications are being built along the whole BulgarJan coast, and in some areas antiaircraft defences extending seven miles inland have been established. In the Varna area several new airfields have been constructed. TURKISH ARMY. LONDON, August 31. “In the 21 years of the new Turkey we have brought the army to a standard which is appreciated by our friends and enemies alike, declared M. Saracoglu in a speech at Symrna. According to the German News Agency, M. Saracoglu stated: “We are convinced that if, one day, we should be compelled to fight, victory would follow the Turkish Colours and cover them with glory.”
