ELECTION CANDIDATES
TIMARU TIMARU July 21. Mr Jack S. Satterthwaite has been selected by the Timaru branch of the National Party as the party’s official candidate at the forthcoming elections. Mr Satterthwaite was formerly a member of the Timaru Borough Council, but resigned from that body to enter the Armed Forces some time ago.
Two other nominations—those of Miss Mary Wigley and Mr B. Lindsay Evans —were made for the National
Party candidate, and Mr Satterthwaite was selected by ballot, the result of which was announced today. The sitting member for Timaru is Mr Clyde Carr (Labour), who was elected at the 1928 elections. PATEA NEW PLYMOUTH, July 21. The selection of Mr Alexander Harper Langslow, of Patea, 'as the official Labour candidate in the Patea electorate has been confirmed. Mr Langslow is a draper and is a member of the Patea Borough Council, and secretary of the Patea branch of the Returned Services’ Association.
