QUARANTINED SHIP

RESTRICTIONS LIFTED

WELLINGTON. May 20

The Prime Minister (Mr. Fraser) said to-night that the quarantine restrictions on the hospital ship which recently arrived have been lifted, and the disembarkation of patients to the clearing hospital in Wellington commenced this afternoon, and will be completed tomorrow, with the exception of a small number who will have to remain for a few days until it is clear that the recent revaccination has bean successful. Mr. Fraser said he regretted that next-of-kin and friends could not be permitted to meet the men as they came oit the ship.. This was because it was necessary io take the patients to the clearing hospital for a complete change of clothing. It was anticipated that all precautionary measures would be completed tomorrow. and the clearing hospital opened to next-of-kin and friends at 2.30 p.m.. when an official welcome would be held. North Island patients would disperse to their homes during the week-end. and those to the South Island at lhe beginning of next week.
