The Armed Forces Appeal Board sat at Reefton on Tuesday Mr W. Meldrum presided as Chairman. Apnea Is were: J. J. Coghlan, for Bert S. Nieper, mine trucker, and application for leave to adopt appeal for Paul Brazil, miner; both granted and adjourned sine die. Defiance Coal Mines, for leave to adopt appeal for Wallace S. Butcher, shiftman; granted. W. Nicholls, for leave to adopt appeal for Thomas W. Prior, trucker; granted. Gordon Archer, personal application to adopt appeal from Kleen Coal Syndicate; granted. George J. Tibbles, dredgemaster, appeal against Home Guard service, supported by Grey River Dredging Co., Ltd., objected to by Group Director of Home Guard; granted. On review: Reid’s Transport Ltd., for D. A. Reid, carrier, C. D. Robertson, and R. H. McNeil, -lorry drivers, all adjourned sine die. Mrs E. H. Bolitho and R. O. Bolitho for R. O. Bolitho, farmer, supported by the Primary Production Council; granted. Reef ton Fire Brigade for F. E. Lawry, driver; dismissed. Mrs E. Bannan for review of release from camp of her son, R. E. Bannan; adjourned till January, 1944, for review. Appeals by B. I. Cummings, P. N. Kerr and G. B. Harris were held over. Banks and Party for extension of release of J. H. Mulligan, carpenter, not recommended by the Army; adjourned two months for review. Review of appeal for W. T. Hempseed; held over.
