MISS BRITANNIA

COMMITTEE ARRANGEMENTS There was an attendance of about 60 persons at a meeting held last evening to further the candidature of Miss Britannia (Miss Joan Pearson) in the Greymouth United Nations Fair project. Mr. A. Sumner presided. It was decided that Miss Britannia be known as the Public Service Queen.

Conveners of sub-committees were appointed as follow: Raffles, Mr. J. J. Thompson; entertainments, Mr. R. Ware; social functions, Mr. H. Booth; shop day, Mrs. Pearson. Executive Committee: Conveners with Chairman, Joint Secretaries (Messrs G. J. Hearn and T. Caldwell), Treasurer (Mr. Smith), Mr. W. H. Walmsley, Mr. J. Duffy, and Mrs. V. Mann. Mr. Duffy was appointed Publicity Agent, with Mr. C. Morel as assistant. The Princesses will be selected later.
