Mrs. M. T. Feeney has commenced duty on the staff of the Social Security Department, Greymouth. Mr. E. M. Carlson, of the staff of the Money Order Branch of the Chief Post Office, Greymouth has received notice of his transfer to Westport and will leave at an early date. Mr. T. Taylor, delegate from the Central Hawke’s Bay Branch, and Mrs. E. Riley, Napier Branch, who have been attending the Diamond Jubilee Conference of the N.Z.E.I. in. Christchurch, are visiting Greymouth.
The engagement is announced of Phyllis Aileen, eldest daughter’ of Mr and Mrs. Haycock, Kimbolton, to Edward Liddle (R.N.Z.A.F.) youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. A. Airns, Dunollie.

At the annual meeting of the West Coast Branch of the Beekeepers’ Association, all the officers were reelected as follow: President, Mr. E. Airey. Vice-president, Mr. R. V. Glasson. Secretary-Treasurer, Mr. J. Glynn. Committee, Messrs L. A. 11ton and W. Baty. South Westland representative. Mr. P. Lucas.
Formerly Apostolic Delegate to Australia and New Zealand, Archbishop Cattanea died on Saturday in Rome, aged 77. The news of his death was received in Sydney from the Vatican by the present Apostolic Delegate, Archbishop Panico. Dr. Cattanea was appointed to the Australasian delegation in 1917 as successor to the first Apostolic Delegate, the late Cardinal Cerretti. Since his return to Rome Dr. Cattanea had been canon of the Basilica of St. Mary Major.

The death occurred suddenly at his residence, Tainui Street, Greymouth, yesterday morning, of Mr. John Donovan Cullen, a native of Auckland, aged 64 years. Deceased joined the Public Works Department in 1911, and was stationed at Taumarunui, Tauranga and Otira before being transferred to Greymouth as District Storekeeper in 1922. Deceased took a keen interest in all sport, being President of the Marist Cricket Club and President of the Celtic Football Club, while formerly he was a member of the West Coast Cricket Association. His wife pre'deceased him about seven years ago. He is survived by one son, John (R.N.Z.A.F.) and two daughters, Mrs. G. Robinson and Miss Marie Cullen (both of Wellington). The funeral will take place at Karoro cemetery on Wednesday morning.
