MODERN MATERNITY.
NEW YORK, May 15. The American Medical Association Journal reports the first case of human pregnancy resulting from artificial insemination in which sperm was transported by aeroplane. The “Journal” says: “After an uneventful nine months gestation, a boy was born, whose blond hair and physiognomy daily becomes more like the patient’s husband.” The patient’s husband proved sterile, whereupon the patient came to New York for artificial impregnation. This was unsuccessful and the patient returned to Montreal. The doctors agreed to send specimens from New York by plane. The doctor chose a donor, a married man, whose eyes, hair-colouring, and common physical characteristics corresponded with those of the patient’s husband.
