CRICKET. The following Greymouth team will meet Southern Cross (Christchurch) at the Recreation Ground, Greymouth, on Saturday: Taylor, Russell, Barlow, Knapp (2), Westwood, Mclntosh, Meates, Mumm, Garforth, Sansom. RUGBY, FOOTBALL. A meeting of members of the Star and United Rugby Football Clubs was held last evening, Mr. A. White presiding. It was resolved that the clubs amalgamate again this season and that a senior team and a third grade team be entered in the W.C.R.U., competitions. Arrangements were made to hold the opening day next Saturday and Messrs W. Blair, Lang, Roberts, and Gillan were delegated to organise an annual meeting for next week. WEST COAST ATHLETE. Trooper John Perrin, a son of Mr. and Mrs. J. D. Perrin, of Greymouth, and a former pupil of the Greymouth Technical High School, won the hop, step and jump at an N.Z.E.F., sports meeting in Cairo recently. The distance was 40 feet, 4| inches, which easily beat the existing record for the camp.
