MINING RETURNS. GREY RIVER. Grey River clean-up for the period February 17 to March 3, 1943, is: 255 hours 35 minutes, 139,496 cubic yards, 614.75 ounces. February totals: 514 hours, 261,117 yards, 1189.39 ounces. NGAHERE The Ngahere return for the fortnight ending March 5 was 3560 z from 97,104 yards worked in 249 hours. SNOWY RIVER The Snowy River return, this week, was 120 ounces from 28,600 yards for 129 hours. BLACKBALL CREEK There was ino wash-up for the Blackball Creek dredge this week. BLACKWATER. REEFTON, March 6. Blackwater mines return for four weeks ended February 26: Crushed 3093 tons, yielding 1236 ounces of gold from all sources, the value of which when taking gold at 168/- per fine ounce was £10,382. Working expenses, not including ordinary or war duty, were £7634. Development expenditure was £764 and capital expenditure was £4OO.
