TAXATION BILL.
CANBERRA, March 5
The tax Bill providing for raising £40,000,000 from new income taxation, making Australian incomes the most heavily taxed in the British Empire, was passed by the House of Representatives shortly before 5.30 this morning. The Senate will consider the new taxes next week. An amendment moved by Mr. W. A. Fadden that the Bill .be redrafted was earlier defeated by 29 votes to 26.
