Nominations for the chopping, cycling and foot-racing close tomorrow. Big fields are expected for the chopping events, and while

! cyclists and runners are not so l numerous as formerly, then - entries will be good and competition keen. The National Dancing Schools’ event, and Baby Show, will all go to make a very enjoyable afternoon. Stepping and weight-guessing competitions, and a number of attractive sideshows will ensure that there are no dull moments, and there will as usual be a booth, tea rooms and sweets stall on the ground. The annual procession preceding the sports leaves the Hibernian Hall at 1 p.m. and will comprise a number of attractive tableaux. The Municipal Band and the Pipe Band will both take part. The Hibernian Ball will be held in Schaef’s Hall on Tuesday, March 16, and no effort will be spared to make it an outstanding success. On Wednesday. March 17, the Irish National Concert takes place in the Town Hall, when the usually high standard of the programme will be fully maintained.
