MRS. ROOSEVELT’S STORY
NEW YORK, Feb. 14.
Women can keep war secrets, says Mrs. Roosevelt, who to-day told a story about- Mr. Churchill and his daughter. Mrs. Roosevelt said she was dining with the Churchills during her recent visit to England, when Mr. Churchill leaned back in his chair and said, “Well, my dears, there’s something I feel I can tell you now. If you turn on the wireless you’ll hear that the Americans have landed in Africa.” His daughter Sarah . replied, “I knew that weeks ago, I handled the intelligence between the Royal Air Force and the American Air Force.” “Why on earth didn’t you tell me?” Mr. Churchill demanded. “Why, father, I didn’t know how much you knew,” she replied.
