Mr. F. L Turley left last evening, for Christchurch.

Mrs. M. M. Dreaver, M.P., left today for Hokitika. She will return to Christchurch to-morrow.

A London cablegram stated that the late Mr. R. S. Forsyth (N.Z. Meat Board) left an estate of £7,365.

A Washington cablegram announced that Mrs. Roosevelt had returned from England, by air.

Miss M. O. Pickering, postmistress at Kotuku, has been transferred to the counter staff of the Greymouth Chief Post Office and will commence duty on Thursday.

Miss F. C. Orr, formerly of Greymouth and at present on the staff of the Wellington Telephone Exchange, has been transferred to the Greymouth Exchange and wilLamve this week.

A\t a meeting of the Greymouth branch of the Canterbury Automobile Association last evening, a motion of sympathy was passed with the President (Mr. P. C. Heaphy) in the recent death of his mother, a pioneer resident of the district.
