Mattson, Hokitika; Dvr. H. G. Nees, Greymouth; Corporal W. J. Treloar, Westport: Cpl. M. D. Jobling, Waiuta.
Charles Bruce Rawlins, of Greymouth, fyis been commissioned as a Second Lieutenant (temp.) in the Home Guard, according to the Gazette. Sergeant C. H. G. Redwood, R.N.Z.A.F., formerly of Greymouth has been granted a temporary commission in the rank of Pilot Officer, as an air navigator.
The death occurred suddenly, at Westport, to-day, of Miss Elizabeth Jane Morgan, aged 67 years, well known in theatrical and movie circles, as proprietress, with her late brother, of Victoria Theatre; and the Theatre Royal, and as donors of the electrical chiming clock in the new Town Hall. A native of Sydney she had resided for about 50 years in Westport.— P.A.
