Leading Aircraftman Angus McLagan, of Earrytown, has returned to his station, after three weeks’ sick leave.
Lieutenant C. S. Pepper, M.C., the former All Black footballer, has been promoted to the temporary rank of captain in the New Zealand Temporary Staff. Captain Pepper won the Military Cross in the Libyan fighting last year.

Mrs. C. S. Hickman, who has rendered signal service to the Greymouth Technical High School as matron of the hostel, has resigned her position. The Board. of Managers, in accepting her decision, with regret, placed on record appreciation of the exemplary manner in which she performed her duties and conveyed its appreciation of her work on behalf of the school.
Rev. Francis Albert Tooley, vicar of Berhampore, died in Wellington on Friday, at the age of 59. Ordainqd deacon in England in 1915 he then came to New Zealand and was oy- ( dained priest at Nelson in 1916. For eight years he was on the West Coast, including Granity, and subsequently was at Woolston, in the Christchurch Diocese. He then transferred to' the Wellington Diocese, being appointed to Berhampore and Lyall Bay in 1935.
