UNREST IN FRANCE
GERMAN AIRMEN ATTACKED
(Recd. 1.5 p.m.) LONDON, Aug. 12. Unknown persons attacked with grenades 60 German airmen, exercising at the Jean Bouin Stadium, killing two, seriously injuring eight, and slightly injuring ten. The attack was the climax to a week of intense antiGerman activity and sabotgae, including the dynamiting of lockgates which blocked the Nord Canal at Tergnier. The British United Press says that the police discovered 451bs of dynamite near Clermont Ferrand; and it is suggested, but not confirmed, 'that it was for dynamiting Laval’s chateau at Chateldon, 30 miles away. Police leave has been suspended in this area.
