Chesterman, M.A, who has been killed in action in Egypt, was educated at the Wairarapa High School, Victoria University College, and the University of Otago. He was formerly in the Pensions and Public Trust Departments in Wellington, and later on the staffs of the Southland Boys’ High School and Nelson College. Major Chesterman represented Southland against the Springboks in 1937pand was a member of the New Zealand Universities’ team which visited Japan.
