WEDDING

SMITH—MOSSOP

The wedding took place at HolyTrinity Church, Greymouth, on Saturday afternoon, of Beatrice Mossop. daughter of Mr. and Mrs. I. Mossop, Runanga, and Alexander Henry Thomson Smith, son of Mrs. B. Dawson, of Henley, Otago. Rev. P. Kirkham officiated. Mrs. W. Baird presided at the organ. The bride, who was escorted by her father, wore a frock of ivory French silk velvet, cut on long slim Princess lines, and falling in soft folds in a fully-flared skirt, with a long train. The tight-fitting sleeves were finished with points over the hards, and the high neckline was held in place with a spray of velvet flowers. The back was finished with tiny buttons, and her embroidered Brussels net veil, held in place with a nalo of orange blossom, formed a second train, She carried a sheaf of arum lilies. Mrs. R. Tallentyre, sister of the bride, was matron of honour, and Miss Florence Spalding was bridesmaid. Both wore pink French silk velvet, cut on classical lines, with long-fitting sleeves pointed over the hands, and the high waistlines shirred and finished with velvet sprays at the neck. They wore topknots of pink velvet flowers, and carried sheafs of cyclamen, freesias, and abulilons.

Mr. R. Mclvor was best man, and I Mr. Gerald Murphy was groomsman. A reception was held at Herb Moore’s where Mrs. Mossop received the guests, wearing a model teal frock, with a black coat and accessories to match, and a shoulder spray of Autumn tints. Mrs. Dawson wo’-e a navy tailored frock, a fur cape, and accessories to tone, and a shoulde>spray of red cyclamen. Mr. and Mrs. Smith left for Nelson via Christchurch, the bride travelling in a moss green tailored suit, with a check coat, and hat and accessories to match.
