A Shorthorn bullock standing 6ft 3in at the shoulder attracted a good deal of attention in the Te Awamutu district, states the “Auckland Star. ’ It was bred by Mr Lyell Kay, Parawera. and its live weight exceeded 20001 b. Estimates of its dead weight were made by butchers and others, the estimate ranging from 11501 b to 15001 b. Actually, the carcass when prepared for export turned the scale at 13111 b.
