LIBERTY LOAN

GREYMOUTH DISTRICT EFFORT

The Liberty Loan receipts for the Greymouth Postal District so far amount to £22,605. This total is made up as follows:—-

Hokitika .. .. 21.475 Greymouth .. 930 Wataroa . . ■ ■ 100 Reefton .... 50 Brumicrton . . .. 30 Jackson’s Bay .. 20 The Greymouth National Savings Committee which is promoting the district as well as the local campaign feels that £200,000 is the goal to be achieved if this district is to feel justified in the effort it makes towards the Liberty Loan. The people musl realise that the very life of this country is dependent, on the success or otherwise of our war loans. The successful flotation of each war loan is a certain blow to the morale of the enemy, because he reads in them the will of the people to fight to the last ditch. He realises that the nation is united and that its citizens will no longer permit ill-equipped troops to go Ao the front. If you fail to back your country’s economic war effort, you add to the morale of the enemy. The goal set for this district is well within Aho capacity of the people and it is hoped that when the’final figures go up that this belief will have been justified.
