INQUEST CONCLUDED
DEATH OF MR. R. H. EATWELL
Proceedings in the adjourned inquest concerning the death of Mr. Robert Harry Eatwell, which occurred at his residence, Cobden, on Maj' 14, were concluded at Greymouth, this afternoon, before the ActingCoroner (Mr. M. J. Fogarty, J.P.) Sergeant R. C. Mcßobie appeared for the police. Edward Frank Eatwell, son of deceased. said that his father was 64 years of a"o. He had been employed lor thice years as a labourer by the Greymouth Borough Council. Six months ago he was an inmate of the Grey Hospital, where he was treated for a leg injury. He resumed his employment at the end of February, and had worked constantly since. He never complained to witness that he was other than well. He died in bed on the morning of May 14.
Dr. W. A. Bird said that the principal finding at the post-mortem examination was a condition of extensive disease of the coronary arteries of the heart, associated with a marked degree of degeneration of the main arteries of the body. Death was due to an attack of coronary occlusion, consequent upon a condition of coronary arterial degeneration. Mr. Fogarty returned a formal verdict, in accordance with the medical evidence.
