The Royal Hotel, in Mawhera Quay, was the scene of an outbreak of fire at 3.10 o’clock this afternoon. When the Fire Brigade was called, the tire had a strong hold in the second story of the building and fire-fighting was proceeding when the “Star” went to press. The building is owned by Westland Breweries Ltd., and is leased by Mrs. A. Lees, the licensee.
