“HIGH HAT” AT REGENT

SUCCESSFUL PRESENTATION.

The “High Hat” revue produced by Mrs. Dudley Bagot, with Mr. Reg. Buchanan as musical director, provided a bright and entertaining programme for a large audience at the Regent Theatre, last evening. Picturesque song and dance scenas were the highlights of the programme, and the general standard, with some excellent vocal-and instrumental items, was high. The orchestra was ap effective combination, and contributed considerably to the success of the show. „ ~ Mrs. R. Wylde, Mr. K. Fehsenfeld, Miss Joan Swetnam, and Mrs. K. Roper were popular vocalists, all having to respond to demands for encores, while in the scenas, Mr. W. Boucher and Mrs. R. Wylde, in character, were especially successful, their items being among the best of the evening. Mr. Reg. Buchanan played two piano solos, one a medley of popular 'selections, and the other the “Blue Danube,” and he won enthusiastic receptions for his artistic renditions. The standard of the dance items was high, the ballets being especially effective. Vai Bagot was the individual star, particularly in her Spanish solo dance, and in the specialty number in the scena, “Eastern Splendour.” 'The best on the comic side was the burlesque ballet, “Flitting Fairies,” which kept the house in laughter. Mr. Arm Beck won favour with his saxaphone solos. The tracking and scenery were excellent, and the whole show reflected considerable credit on the producer. “High Hat” is being presented in aid of patriotic funds, and will be repeated in the Regent Theatre, this evening.
