i [OUK OWN CORRESPONDENT.] i ’REEFTON, July 23. Judgment for plaintiff, by default, I was given at the Magistrate’s Court .by Mr. G. G. Chisholm S.M., in the lease of Inangahua County Council v. 'Nelson T. Brooks for £ll/1/5 with I nnQtc: 1 /5/— i Frederick W. Archer, on four i charges of failing to supply monthly returns relating to sale- of oil fuel, was fined 5/- on each charge, with costs totalling £2. Joseph Anderson as licensee of Albion Hotel, Black’s iPoint, was fined £3 with costs 11/for selling liquor after hours. Timothy O’Donnell was charged with disobedience of a maintenance order to the extent of £l5/17/6, less £5 paid, issue of warrant to be suspended on payment of current maintenance, plus 5/- per week off arrears. Blackspoint School has been closed for several days owing to a defect in the heating system. The frost damaged some of the pipes which convey warmth to the teaching rooms. Rev. D. S. Evans, vicar of St. Stephens’ Church, leaves on ThursIday for Nelson. The weddine was solemnised at SL John’s Church, Christchurch, of Annie Celia, only daughter of Mr and Mrs W. Hopley (Reefton) and of Allan Lester, son of Mr and Mrs J. Henry (Loburn). Rev. T. W. McWilliams performed the ceremony. The bride was attired in a gown of white georgette with unique pearl trimmings. A spray of orange blossom held her veil of uncut tulle and she wore a string of triple pearls (the gift of the bridegroom). The bouquet was of arum lilies, Winter roses and narcissus. The bridesmaids were Miss Joy Beattie (OamarU) and Miss Marjorie Henry (Loburn). Both wore model frocks of pink spider web and taffeta, and gold lockets (the gift of the bridegroom). Their head-dresses were of pink sweet peas, and they carried bouquets of sweet peas and abutilons. Mr Jack WilWs (Han Hari) was best man, and Mr Arthur Hoplev (Oamaru) was groomsman. During the signing of the register. Miss Merle Fisher rende/ed the solo. “Bless this House.” On leaving the church, the bride was presented with a lucky horseshoe by her cousin, Jean Harvey. „ ... , .. The reception was held at . the Winter Gardens, where the bride’s ' mother # wearing a black ensemble and carrying an Autumn-tinted bouquet, received 100 guests The bridegrom’s mother wore a teal blue
1 coat over a clover frock and carried - a bouquet to tone. For travelling, the t bride chose a teal blue coat and hat 3 with burgundy frock and accessories ■ to tone.
