RUGBY FOOTBALL

BULLER V. WEST COAST. The traditional rivals, West Coast and Buller will meet at Rugby Park, to-morrow afternoon, and with interest aroused as a result of the controversy over the Seddon Shield, there should be a record attendance. The Rundle Cup, held by West Coast, will be at stake. The West Coast team is strong, as has been well demonstrated in the matches with Canterbury, and West Coast supporters are confident of success. Though the Buller team is largely composed of younger players than i usual, this may not be a disadvantage, and they can be expected io I maintain the tradition built up by ;the Buller “Lions” of the past, for rugged Rugby; The Greymouth and Westland third grade representatives will provide the curtain-raiser at 1.30 p.m., and if the standard of this grade in the south is as high as it is in Greymouth, this match should provide splendid football. Tech. ‘ A and Blaketown fourth will play at 1.30 p.m., on the No. 2 ground. ST. BEDE’S v. ST. ANDREW’S CHRISTCHURCH, July 17. St. Bede’s College had no great difficulty in beating St. Andrew’s Collefie by 16 points to 5 in the annual Rugby match played at St. Andrew’s to-day.
