IKAMATUA NOTES
[OUR OWN CORRESPONDENT.] The following goods have been sent to the Greymouth Centre of the Red Cross: Flannel hospital jackets, Mrs. McEwan and helpers; balaclavas, Mrs. G. J. Mclnroe, Misses Feary and Halligan; scarves, Mesdames. Flynn and Steel; mittens, Mesdames Feary and Pfahlert, Miss Feary; covers,. Mesdames Green and Feary. Pyjamas (ready cut) are the next requirement, and volunteers lor the making ol these garments, are needed. There was an improved attendance at the last Patriotic eucher, the prizewinners being Mrs. Richards, ano Mr. Campbell. Mr. H. Steel, a member oi the Patriotic Committee, is an inmate of the Inangahua Hospital. On Tuesday, representatives oi the Ladips’ Golf Club visited Totara Flat links. Miss O’Malley (ladies’ captain) thanked the ladies of the Totara Flat Club lor their hospitality. The first round of the knock-out for the cup presented by Rev. Father O’Mecghan was played on Wednesday. Ihe following is the draw for the seconu round', and must be played by July 26: Mrs. Green v. Miss McVicar, Miss Doolan v. Miss O’Malley, Mrs. Cullen v. Mrs. Nicholson, Mrs. August v. Mrs. Pfahlert. The Physical Fitness Club, under the direction of Mrs. H. C. Cullen, is proving popular. On Monday last, thirty-two ladies took patr in the exercises.
