MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE At the weekly meeting of the Management Committee of the West Coast Rugby League, last evening, there were present; Messrs J. Stokes (VicePresident) , L. Hunter, J. Griffen, A. Kyle, W. Meates,' A. Fielding, J. Kidd, M. Power, J. J. Anisy and P. E. Sweetman (Secretary). Mr. B. Ramsay was granted three weeks’ leave of absence. The Inangahua League wrote congratulating West Coast on its success in the Massetti Cup match, stating that the display of the West Coast team, and its behaviour, left nothing to be desired. The Inangahua League also forwarded a copy of its challenge lor the Northern Union Cup, sent to the New Zealand Council, and suggested that the match be played on August 17. The Secretary reported that the Seaview senior team would be willing to play a match at Wingham Park, provided that it was given a fort-1 night’s notice; also that the Seaview | Club had entered a travelling junior i team for the Knock-Out competition. . |

It was decided that the junior team be accepted, and that a match at Wingham Park for Seaview, seniors be arranged at the first possible opportunity. Mr. Power reported that the Junior Advisory Board had declared Marist winners of the fourth grade championship. The Secretary reported that the Canterbury League had communicated with him by telephone and had confirmed July 27 as the date for the West Coast-Canterbury representative match at Greymouth. The Canterbury team intended to arrive on Saturday and return on Monday. Mr. Stokes said that no official challenge had been received from Canterbury for the Northern Union cup and so far it was not known whether the match was to be for the Cup or for the Anisy Shield. He thought the position should be clarified before they went any further. In reply to a question, the Secrettary said it had been decided at the conference held in Christchurch early this season that the Leagues could arrange their own matches for the Cup, provided the challenges went through the New Zealand Council. Mr. Kidd: Do Canterbury wish to plav for the Cup or for the Anisy Shield. Mr. Stokes: That is what we do not know yet. Mr. Kidd said the only thing they could do was to advise Canterbury of the position which had arisen. On the motion of Mr. Stokes, it was decided to advise the Canterbury League that the terms submitted by the West Coast League for the representative match on July 27 were not in accordance with Northern Union Cup rules, and that the match, under such terms, must be for the Anisy Shield. It was decided that the senior selectors be instructed to select the representative team to play Canterbury following next Sunday’s matches. FIXTURES FOR SUNDAY Senior: Blackball v.
